Mahatma Gandhi once said " I object to violence when it appears to do good; the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent." This quote explains that violence is bad, it may hide in the begging. Convince you that what your doing is right but the permanent effects of violence will never go away. This quote from Gandhi seems correct because violence/ violent actions seem to be the only ones never forgotten. This relates to the book In Darkness by Nick Lake. The book talks of violence both inner and outer which follows the quote. For example in the book the main character 'Shorty' shows and talks about his past and how there was violence all around him. That did not really make him a violent person even though he was surrounded by it.
